Identified key issues with existing event sites and business models, and developed a platform that maintains user engagement, offers a rich data set at low cost, and incentivizes businesses to contribute data. Created an SEO strategy using targeted keyword optimization and strategic site architecture to drive user acquisition. Designed an engaging, modern user experience striving to generate excitement around the brand.
Information architecture played a key role in shaping the flow and SEO structure of the project. Ensure that the site’s SEO is optimized for local searches by using location-based keywords (e.g., "events in [City Name]"). Incorporate schema markup (event schema) to help search engines display rich snippets (like event times and locations) directly in search results.
In the design process, I prioritized clear event categorization to ensure users could easily navigate and find events that match their interests. By organizing events into intuitive groups such as Music, Arts, Sports, Food & Drink, and Family-friendly, I made it easier for users to quickly locate what they were looking for. Additionally, I incorporated advanced filtering options based on date, time, location, event type, price range, and popularity. This allowed users to refine their search with ease and discover the most relevant events. To further improve usability, I implemented an intuitive search bar with auto-suggestions, enabling users to search by event name, location, or keywords. Each event listing was designed to be clear and informative, providing essential details such as date, time, venue, ticketing information, and a brief event description, ensuring users could make quick, informed decisions. Visual content played a key role in user engagement.
I implemented user profiles to allow users to create accounts where they could save their favorite events, sign up for newsletters, and receive personalized event recommendations based on their past interests. To keep users engaged, I also provided options for event reminders and notifications, offering email or SMS alerts for upcoming events or ticket sales.
